Filing observations on mobile

The mobile app makes it easy to report safety observations immediately when you spot something in the field.

Quick Report Flow

• Tap the + button in the app
• Select Observation
• Choose the type:

- 🔴 Hazard

- 🟡 Near-Miss

- 🟢 Positive

• Take or attach a photo
• Describe the observation
• Submit

Taking Photos

Camera Tips

• Get close enough to clearly show the hazard
• Include context (surrounding area)
• Take multiple angles if needed
• Ensure good lighting
• Avoid photographing people's faces without consent

Photo Features

• Flash — Use in low-light areas
• Zoom — Get closer to distant hazards
• Multiple photos — Add up to 5 photos per observation
• Gallery — Attach existing photos from your device

Adding Descriptions

Write a clear, useful description:

Good Description

"Unguarded floor opening on level 3, east side near elevator shaft. Opening is approximately 3x4 feet with no barricades or covers. Fall hazard to level below (~12 feet)."

Poor Description

"Hole in floor."

Voice-to-Text

• Tap the microphone icon
• Speak your description
• Review and edit the transcription
• Useful when wearing gloves

Location

The app automatically captures:

• GPS coordinates
• Project (based on proximity)
• Timestamp

You can also manually specify:

• Area of site (e.g., "Level 3, East Wing")
• Specific location details

After Submission

• AI analyzes your observation (when online)
• Classification is assigned
• Superintendent receives notification
• You can track status in My Observations
• You'll be notified when it's resolved

Offline Observations

If you're offline:

• Observations are saved locally
• Photos are stored on device
• Everything syncs when connection returns
• You receive confirmation after sync
• Timestamp reflects when you filed, not when synced
